Came across some old film from when I lived in Spain back in 2005. This was from a 2 week trip to Lanzarote in the Canary Islands. After the boys wrecked the rental car (in which my board was the only one damaged) we got a brand new whip and did some exploring. Thankfully there was a QS on another island so a lot of the notorious hard-ass locals were out of town for the first week.
Atlantic perfection?
This picture is deceptive. We watched this wave for a while before paddling out. There were some very scary rogue sets detonating on shallow reef. Access was across a barren volcanic wasteland with no physical features making finding a lineup spot with the shore near impossible once we made it out. Got a couple but opted for the more user-friendly reefs up the coast.
makes the blacks cliffs seem like nothing (but the beachie is no where near as good)
